Previous to his current construction related business, Pete gained nine years experience as a public school administrator in Arizona and Texas. For five years in Arizona he was school district administrator with direct responsibility over, among other areas, physical plant and maintenance operations. In that capacity he was responsible for all publically funded capital improvement Work of the district including the RFP and public bidding procurement process; writing and review of project specifications; district and board liaison for all project vendors, site personnel, and public interface; and oversight of the on-site project Work itself. Major projects during Pete’s tenure at Pearce Elementary School District, Pearce, Arizona, included roof and fenestration renovation of the original 1912 school building; roof and ventilation retrofit of the gymnasium building; repair and renovation of the on-site sanitary waste system; and removal and remediation (per EPA and Arizona DEQ protocols) of leaking underground fuel storage tanks (LUST) previously containing gasoline and diesel fuels. Pete also pursued initiatives to improve the physical functions of the district such as pursuit of state and federal grant funds for building and physical plant improvements, and energy audit analysis and improvement plan.
